VIVID DESCRIPTIONBy 2035, WSPID plays a significant role in global pandemic preparedness, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) prevention strategies, and vaccine accessibility, collaborating with UNICEF, WHO, and other organizations to prioritize children and young people in health strategies. Infectious diseases research capacity has expanded globally, with low-income regions leading significant projects. Regional engagement has grown, with multidisciplinary teams, including families, working to improve outcomes for children. WSPID’s congresses are highlights of the field, and the society provides high quality guidelines, and education to the PID community and wider practitioners, with a focus on the next generation. WSPID has strong governance, with engaged volunteers and sound decision-making processes. The society is financially sustainable and invests in impactful projects and activities. Overall, WSPID is a driving force in global child and youth health advocacy, shaping policies that save lives and improve outcomes for children and young people worldwide. |
